We publish one short story each week. Make that, one excellent story each week. In the future, we hope to add poetry, essays, and novels. But for now, one story per week.We like stories that are offbeat, a little different from the norm. Quirky is good. Dark humor is good. You might call our style mystery, literary, or Southern Gothic.As you may have noticed, Brown Hound Press is new. We are soliciting our first stories for publication in February 2026. All stories will be published on brownhoundpress.com.Story length is capped at 3,000 words. We pay $25 for all accepted stories. If we buy a story, we hold exclusive rights for one year. After that, the rights go back to the author.
